In beautiful Chamberlain, South Dakota, there resides the official South Dakota Hall of Fame. Honoring the contributions and people who made this state great, the Hall of Fame has displays on numerous people who shaped history. Among the more famous members of this diverse group are Lawrance Welk, Mary Hart, Bob Barker, Hubert Humphrey, George McGovern, and Laura Ingalls Wilder. The list of inductees is long, varied, and immensely interesting.

The facility is built in a neoclassical style, with many interactive displays, video and computer sections, a Walk and a Wall of Fame, and a gift shop. Established in 1975, the facility was moved to it’s present location in 2000. The museum is a nonprofit entity (though donations are welcomed) and can be reserved for private showings.
