Great Scarecrow & Pumpkin Festival - Huron, South Dakota

The Huron Lions and Lioness’ Clubs host the annual Great Scarecrow & Pumpkin Festival.  For four days in October they provide the opportunity to showcase imaginative and unusual creations to promote schools, clubs, churches and businesses in the Huron area.  There are cash prizes given away for both youth and adult entries.

Youth, adults and organizations create humorous and traditional scarecrow themes and decorate the pumpkins.

Each year there are more and more of the creative scarecrows for the public to enjoy at this free event.

There can be only one entry per group, there are NO political statements allowed, the Club reserves the right to deny entry privileges considered to be offensive.  If you have children that are entering the children must be the ones doing the scarecrow.  Parents can assist in placing the scarecrow in patch but that’s all.
