Ingalls Homestead in De Smet, South Dakota is where the Little House on the Prairie stories came to life.

The visit to the prairie of Laura’s home will bring history to life for you. The Charles Ingalls family claimed this piece of Dakota Territory as their homestead. Many of Laur’s stories tell of her life on the farm at this claim.

Sample 1800’s pioneer life: covered wagon rides, historic one room school session, hands-on activities, horse rides, a prairie learning center, native grass parairie and more.
